Job Description
Sample preparation of environmental samples and chemical analysis by classical and instrumental techniques. Careful record-keeping of analysis documentation and strict adherence to QA/QC protocols. Use of scientific instrument software and laboratory database platforms to generate and enter analytical data.
Duties
- Extract aqueous and solid samples prior to analysis within the inorganic and organic sections by instrumental techniques such as ICP, ICP-MS, GC/MS, LC/MS, etc.
- Analyze samples using scientific instruments and/or classical techniques.
- Use of laboratory glassware and equipment, including balances, volumetric instruments, micro syringes, etc.
- Preparation of standards and solutions.
- Follow detailed procedures described in the Standard Operating Procedures and analytical methods.
- Maintain laboratory documentation.
- Communicate with analyst, project managers, QA staff and other laboratory personnel.
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and glassware.
Skills and Qualifications
- College-level science courses, Bachelor's Degree or student in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related field.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and able to work under time constrains.
- Willing to work in a flexible schedule.
- No experience required.
